DOWN TO EARTH

Autumn Equinox Retreat in the Sacred Valley

SEPTEMBER 19th - 25th

Join us in the Sacred Valley.

Settled in the Peruvian Andes between Cusco and Machu Picchu, the Sacred Valley is a place of deep cultural & spiritual significance. Once at the heart of the Inca Empire, the valley is known for its rolling green mountains, fertile farmland, and centuries-old communities.

Twice a year, the world arrives at a moment of balance. On the equinox, day and night share equal light.

We find this time to be the best for reflection. We look back at where we were in the spring, or at that same point the year before. We'll ask ourselves the deeper questions, along with the simple ones like... where have we been & where are we going?

This is your chance to step outside of your usual rhythm.
This is something to look forward to.

When we arrive, the noise of everyday routines and responsibilities will soften. In the quiet, you'll have time to listen, to observe, to see what comes up, to set intentions and to visualize what comes next in your story.

A retreat inspired by the equinox.

  • "I got what I didn't know I needed. By the third morning I noticed I'd stopped checking my phone before practice. I left with new friends, a clearer head, and a promise to myself I intend on keeping."

    — Shannon (Costa Rica, 2025)

  • "I booked this hoping to reset, but it ended up being much more meaningful than that. It helped me reconnect with parts of myself I had been neglecting for a long time."

  • "I didn’t realize how much my body had been holding until I got there. By the second day I felt lighter, clearer, and more present than I had in months."

The Space

EL VERDE

Our home for the week is El Verde, a small retreat space in Huarán, a quiet village in the Sacred Valley about 90 minutes from Cusco. It was built for small groups, so expect an intimate group of about 8-10.

Jyl is the founder of El Verde and is our guide for the week. She's a longtime yoga and somatic movement teacher, a cacao + chocolate enthusiast, and has called the valley home since 2021. She's the one welcoming us into Peru, holding the space while we're here.

There's a yoga space, a meditation room, community fireplace, and gardens with hammocks looking out at Pitusiray, one of the sacred mountains of the Andes. Trails from the village lead out to a waterfall. ~ (our favorite)

The house is built from adobe, local stone, and eucalyptus wood, with rainwater collection and solar-heated water. El Verde also gives at least 1% of its revenue to reforestation and community projects in the valley.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included every day, cooked by Brisa, who's been in El Verde's kitchen for over a decade. Any dietary needs can be accommodated but we’ll take this time to eat primarily plant based meals.

We're arriving right as the valley tips into spring. Warm days around 70, strong sun at this altitude, cool nights in the 40s. And if we're lucky, a spring rain rolls through while we're there. The valley sits around 9,500 feet, so plan an easy first day and lots of water.

Come as you are. Pack layers!
